Mt. Rainier
Truly the "Crown Jewel" of the Puget Sound area! This flight is approximately one hour long. We'll fly over the various lahars of past eruptions. the Auburn Valley (which 5,000 years ago was filled in from Mt. Rainier's largest eruption). We climb up over the Enumclaw Plateau (the sight of Mt. Rainier's last eruption approx. 1,000 years age). Looming ahead of us at 14,411 ft above sea level, Mt. Rainier is the tallest of the five volcanoes in Washington. Flying around the mountain you will see the 25 permanent glaciers as they slowly move down the face of the mountain. The crevasses that fall hundreds of feet into a deep glacier blue color as if illuminated from within, and see the climbers slowly making there trek up to the summit. This is truly an amazing flight.
